Leclerc Nilus floor loom for sale. 4 harness, 6 treadle. 27” weaving width

I have been weaving on this loom consistently for the past 5 years and have made everything from kitchen towels and small rugs to lace weave shawls and doubleweave projects.   I love this loom and am only selling because I wanted to move up to an 8 harness loom and didn’t have space for 2 looms.

Nice features about this loom –

Made of light colored hard maple and has nice finish
Double pawl and ratchet for cloth beam for smooth advance
Friction brake coil for controlled release of tension
Warp and Cloth beams can be easily removed for transport
Castle top piece is removable and is 45” high
Breast beam and back beam can be removed if desired, and back can be folded down to get closer to heddles for threading.
Crank for warp beam is slide on and off so once warped in can be put away.
Tie up is possible on any treadle for any harness (as opposed to only a direct tie up option)
Loom can be extended at back when weaving, and folded in (while still warped) for smaller footprint.

I’ve added:

New aprons for both cloth and warp beams in 2012.
New friction brake assembly added in 2012.
Added 100+ inserted eye heddles on each harness in 2015.
Texsolv lengths and arrow pegs for tie up.

Dimensions: Overall footprint required is 38” wide (outside of beater bar) and 45” deep when fully extended. Only 29” deep when folded in.

Also included with loom in price:

15 epi 27” reed
Large warping board
Leclerc weaving bench with under-lid storage and side compartments
Metal “pins” that came with loom for tie up using cording.
Set of approximately 200 flat steel heddles that came with loom.
Pieces to convert back beam to sectional beam.
Copy of Marguerite Davison’s “A Handweavers Pattern Book”, a must for 4-shaft weavers

Full disclosure:

This has been a well used and reliable loom, and shows signs of age and wear as expected.   The solid wood cloth beam does have a split visible on one end, but this is cosmetic and has not affected weaving at all.   When I obtained the loom, a rear post had a crack that I was concerned about so I did tape it with black tape.  Again, cosmetic and does not affect function.  The maple wood is in great shape and still has smooth, lustrous finish.

Currently available for pick up in Eastport, Maine.  More information about this loom can be found at http://www.camillavalleyfarm.com/weave/leclerchistory.htm under the Nilus (not Nilus II).

Asking $550 for all.  Great loom for a new weaver.

Included with each Schacht Ladybug Spinning Wheel are a poly drive band, threading hook, three travel bobbins (about 4oz), medium and fast whorls, and double drive band. Each Ladybug Spinning Wheel is unique - somewhere on your wheel is your very own Ladybug pal."

The extras are:
•Bulky Plyer Flyer Kit which includes a generously-sized 7/8" orifice, large capacity bobbin (about 8 oz), sliding flyer hooks with incremental stops, and large round guide hooks. The Bulky Plyer Flyer comes with its own special front maiden, bulky flyer, and bulky bobbin.
